Environmental Toxicity and Amino Acids Made from Sewage Sludge
“Do unto others as you would like done unto you.”
We must be diligent on all fronts. We often wonder why society is so sick while people have no idea that many vegans and vegetarians regularly take protein powders produced by chemical extraction or made by fermentation from sewage sludge. This second option helps the producers to hide under the banner of fermentation while the product is made from sewage sludge that it is laced with vaccines, drugs, plastics, hormones, and disease. This explains a lot as most athletic people who use protein powders are getting a bigger belly or digestive issues. Who would have thought of the amino acids fortified in the protein powders?
Differences between raw materials
One of the problems is educating the public with our limited market reach compared to pharma owned or large natural health corporations who guerilla market with their massive media outreach. Take for instance our plant based, sugar cane or sugar beet base for the fermentation process of our amino acids: we paid for L-Tyrosine $220 per kilogram while the Chinese poop based one can be found on the market for $40 for the same amount. For L-Tryptophan we pay $210 per kilogram and the Chinese material costs $35/kg. Each time ordered we are supplied with documentation that states “Not Made From Sewage Sludge.” One is food based and absorbs to the cells up to 95% and the other is poop based and only absorbs at 10%.
The quality issues of amino acids began in 2007 when China entered the raw material industry—US, Japan and European countries could not compete with their low-ball pricing and since suppliers saw they could offer a cheaper product, they quickly jumped on board as the quality manufacturers were priced out of the market. A few quality manufacturers of amino acids outside from China remain, the rest closed giving China 95% of the raw material market share.
Sewage sludge, biosolids and PFAS
The use of sewage sludge as fertilizer for food, renamed biosolids, is a growing and less known threat to human health. Sewage sludge is the residue generated during the treatment of domestic waste and contains a mixture of hazardous substances from industry, hospitals and humans—anything that is discharged into the sewage system. The application of huge amounts of biosolids containing nitrogen and phosphorus, combined with other nitrogen-rich fertilizers, has contributed to the growing algae blooms along US coasts but it also has further harmful effects on human and animal life, as well as water quality. Antibiotic resistance and the accumulation of pharmaceuticals are other serious issues that come as risks with the use of biosolids. Harmful substances have been found in many vegetables coming from biosolid-treated soil.
Toxic sewer sludge is not just used in agriculture. Biosolids are also sold as lawn and garden fertilizers to homeowners despite their dangerous components. Unfortunately, companies do not have to disclose when biosolids are used in their compost or potting soil, they can even have the USDA organic label on them and still be full of toxic biosolids. In case you grow vegetables in your garden and want to avoid toxins contained sewer sludge, your best option is to buy organic potting soil and/or compost from a local nursery you know and trust that can guarantee no biosolids have been added.
In reality, sewage sludge disposal is a universal problem. What can be done with such a massive amount? It can be given to people like in the movie Soylent Green. In China, they spread it for fertilizer on crops, use it in animal feed or as a protein base—since it is classified as natural and organic it can pass and be labeled as organic and exported around the world. It is such a massive issue we need to focus on: how it is used in food supplements, protein powders and in drugs or cosmetics, especially when it contains PFAS forever chemicals. This not only lowers testosterone and sperm count but affects mental health as well.
The PFAS family of man-made chemicals are used to produce many common household items like non-stick cookware, microwave popcorn bags, personal care products or electronics. They are toxic in extremely small concentrations, long-lasting, they build up in the blood and have been linked to cancer, liver damage and other health risks.
Chemical extraction uses 3-5 enzymes and it comes from human or animal materials (human sewage, duck feathers, horse or human hair). Amino acids are derived with chemicals and chemical residue may remain on the finished product.
Fermented extraction uses 30 enzymes and comes from vegan, non-GMO sugar cane. There are no questionable residues on the finished product, it is true free-form for cellular delivery.
Why do we need to talk about this?
It is important to make everyone aware of this issue, have people examine the products they take and ask the right questions. Unfortunately, most people have no clue, even the ones working in health food stores or for manufacturers. It is shocking how this junk is flooding the market in the name of health. Even when we try telling health food stores, we are told not to talk about it as it makes the other products look bad. Promoting higher quality does not fit the marketing plan with the focus on selling the end-product and not talking about raw material sourcing or how the product is made. We will remain diligent and never compromise on product quality, if we have doubts about raw materials we do not engage in the sale. We run the business with the principle of “Do unto others as you would like done unto you” since we know we are responsible for what goes into our formulations, we would not want to have our family, friends and clients consuming toxins when there are better options.
The formulations we put our fermented plant based amino acids in are Fiery Male (L-Arginine), Neurotransmitter Support (L-Tyrosine, L-Threonine) and Thydracut (L-Tyrosine). It is a shame, we once produced most single amino acids by plant based fermentation—now we offer only L-Glycine and L-Tryptophan, the market would not support the higher selling price so we offer them now in our formulations. Our hope is that the awareness enters the minds of the consumers and since their purchasing power dictates the market, they are the only ones who can remedy this toxic tragedy being promoted in the name of being healthy.
