“We need to change the way we do things, the use of antibiotics and chemicals because right now we are at risk for our health.”

We are in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic but is it only Covid-19 or is there much more that we are not being told? What this virus has exposed is society’s weakness. This is not isolated in any means, the most vulnerable are our seniors, but even if we are lucky and have the privilege of becoming old one day, viral attacks affect everyone. In my estimation, a vaccine will provide at best a band aid for our weaken state, while our underlying core health issues are still of the gravest concern.

There are many active viruses other than the coronavirus being spread around the world: there is the African swine fever, “pig ebola”, which has already wiped out millions upon millions of pigs in China, 300 million to be exact and it has now spread to more than 40 other countries.  Then there is the H1N1 swine flu that—unlike the African swine fever—can actually kill humans.  The H5N1 bird flu is now experiencing a stunning resurgence: China is reportedly dealing with the outbreak of this deadly bird flu in chickens again in the Hunan province. The H5N8 bird flu is another bird flu—many believe it is even more frightening.  It recently made an appearance in Germany killing 44 birds out of a flock of 69.

Mysterious and deadly infections are spanning the globe. A newly discovered germ, a fungus called Candida auris, threatens people with weakened immune systems, and it is quietly spreading from Venezuela through Spain, India to South Africa and recently New York. “The rise of Candida auris embodies a serious and growing public health threat. Candida auris is so tenacious, in part, because it is impervious to major antifungal medications, making it a new example of one of the world’s most intractable health threats: the rise of drug-resistant infections.”[1]

Just like the Coronavirus, resistant germs or superbugs don’t typically kill everyone. They are most dangerous to people with immature or compromised immune systems (e.g. newborns, elderly, smokers, diabetics or people with autoimmune disorders), but scientists warn that in time risk will spread to healthier populations as well. I have my doubts that it will spread to healthy people for if really healthy your immune system should be able to kill the germs, although you may need to take specific nutrients to bolster your immunity.

You might ask how it is possible that such infections can spread so widely in our drug-centered age. Actually, our drug-centered age is the reason. In the US the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) estimates that 30% of all prescribed antibiotics are not needed at all, but instead of reducing the amounts, we have increased the use. That’s 47 million excess prescriptions. However, this doesn’t stop the industry since the antibiotics market is valued 40 billion dollars. The same goes with the rampant use of antifungals. Lately, there has been an explosion of resistant fungi as well, adding a more scary dimension to a phenomenon of drug resistant evolving defenses.

Another important fact that we need to be aware of is that 80% of antibiotics goes into agriculture, which means that our food carries our risk of disease. How sad is that? We feed the animals antibiotics so the food we eat carries drug-resistant bacteria while fungicides on crops are contributing to the surge in drug-resistant fungi infecting humans. And in case we got sick from the food we eat, there is a high chance that we can’t even identify the origin of the meat that caused the sickness—unless you live in Japan, New Zealand or the EU, where meat ID is required. Since the bacteria work together so efficiently, the situation has to be handled globally.

Sadly, the information doesn’t flow in a way it should. It’s either being withheld—regarding the possible consequences like the origin of the coronavirus the antibiotic overuse—or it is misleading, since many people think there always will be a new drug that can beat the new generation of bacteria and viruses. The fact is that even if it’s true, it takes a lot of time and resources to bring a new drug to the market, and it must be first field tested for at least a year or more (watch and see the vaccine to treat the coronavirus: it will be fast tracked). On the other hand we need to mention that it can never solve the basic underlying problems: we need to change the way we farm, and the use of antibiotics and chemicals because right now we are at risk for our health. We need to ask ourselves how long we can dodge the bullet and endanger our life instead of improving the quality of it. The British Government commissioned a study which predicted a worst case scenario where by 2050 more people will die of infections caused by bacteria resistance than of cancer. I think these numbers are conservative at best and will happen much sooner unless we flatten the curve on their use.

While we can, we need to regain our health and look for natural alternatives and a healthy diet. We need to boost our T-cells, as they regulate the immune system and help the body fight off pathogens and diseases. The best daily supplement to our diet is the super vitamin, Next Generation B-Complex that is unlike anything else in the marketplace.

In addition, the perfect product for immune defense is Thymus Gland—it was designed for this purpose. What better way to boost your T-cells than to strengthen the gland that supplies them? The paradox of thymus gland is that it is one of the most important organs for boosting our immune system and yet virtually unknown. If it were known, it would be selling like vitamin C. Doctor’s Choice® offers true full gland thymus concentrates (not extracts) which are taken from New Zealand-raised, grass-fed sheep without hormones or antibiotics. It also has Vitamin B6 (P5P) and the most needed Zinc Picolinate. B6 deficiency has been linked to thymic atrophy and reduced antibody production, while increased B6 enables the body to absorb thymus hormones. Zinc is included because it is the keystone molecule for thymic proteins, which are immune substances made in the thymus gland. No zinc, no immunity and today’s society is in dire need of zinc.

It is also important to mention that all disease begins in the gut and there is a need to help with antibiotic abuse like Laktokhan® probiotic complex does. Even if you are on antibiotics, taken the same day but at different intervals separated by at least 4 hours, it will help maintain your gastrointestinal immunity while the antibiotics do their thing.

In these uncertain times we have become paranoid of contacting an infection, and now with the coronavirus, things will never be the same. As we age, our bodies must fight harder and harder to maintain optimal performance. A proper wholesome diet is a must with plenty of clean water and nutraceuticals that produce a therapeutic response. It is our best defence for remaining healthy.
